Florida Living

Florida Living

Sleeping babies, they needed their strength to play later

Sebastian and Daddy

We went to the Veterans Memorial Park not too far away from home this Monday. Finally, we had a day off. I mean all of us together. Jerry didn't have to work, Alisiya was out of school, and we kept the twins home.

Alisiya had the good idea that we all go and have a picnic lunch. So with her help we had a picnic lunch packed in a bag, too the picnic blanket, and we were off.

This was the first time that we took the twins to the park and they actually stayed awake for a good amount of time. There is a water fountain in the park for the kids to play in and that's where the babies got their fist taste of the Florida lifestyle. Alisiya is very accustomed to this lifestyle she went to playing in the water right away.

Alisiya jumped right in

Sebastian is trying to figure out what that wet stuff is

Haillee was testing out the waters

After playing in the water fountain, Alisiya and Jerry made it over to the park. After playing hard they managed to catch the Icecream Man and bring back some sweet treats.

Haillee, as usual, was ready with mouth open

Sebastian was all smiles about the goodie

Going to the water park in February. Wait...It must be Florida living. It was a warm 80 degrees day. There were very few clouds but, the ones that came were eventually whisked away by the gentle summerlike breeze. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back.

All Dressed Up

Here are some pics of the kids from the assembly. We had our circuit this past weekend and I was flying solo. My right hand man had to work. So it was me and the kiddies. They did pretty good. We sat with Sister Perkins and her family. They were a big help (Thanks). The last day Alisiya and Haillee wore matching dresses and Sebastian wore a tie. Thanks for the outfits Mema! I forgot to take pics of the girls together (bad mommy), but my brain was fried by then.

Doesn't Alisiya look darling

Blurry

O.K. the kids gave us a surprise. I like surprises right? Not at 4 AM. I don't usually do night duty. Sebastian is the only one that wakes during the night and he usually takes his breast milk pumped in a nice little bottle in the early AM hours with his daddy. Then why did they both wake up???!!! I don't know if it is b/c of the assembly they got confused or out of sorts, but just, just, STOP THAT!!!!

I was too through looking. As if the assembly with all of them and with out Jerry didn't already make me look like a hot mess. Not only did our loving twins wake us up, they both were ready to play.

I tried to make sense of it an hour after they woke up. Both of them had already eaten. When were they going back to sleep???!!!!! Where Jerry and I the only two who wanted to sleep???!! Apparently the answer was yes. Needless to say. I never got back to sleep until late that night.

A blurry 5:00 AM photo session

Haillee looks like she's saying, 'And what?!!!..I'm up ain't I!'

Come out with your hands up, Sir!!!

O.K. he does look confused here.

Doesn't he get tired of playing the innocent baby role???

I look bewildered.....that's because I am.

Here is an example of mass confusion

The South Florida Fair

The South Florida Fair has become one of the things that our family loves about living in South Florida. Alisiya looks forward to it each year. I hear that some people like it so much they go five times or more during the two-week stay at the fairgrounds.

There is so much to do at the South Florida Fair, you can do anything from buying sheets or a jacuzzi spa and then run over to catch the Tiger presentation. The first time that we went all five of us went together as a family. After having Sebastian leaving me a not so pleasant present on my leg during a show and then proceeding to spit up on my shoes, we decided that the second time we would leave the kids at the sitter's instead.

Alisiya's best friend Meagon came with us, just as she requested. They couldn't wait to run around, catch some shows and ride the rides. The first thing they did when we arrived was to look for the butterfly art that each of their Art teachers had completed and entered into the WaMu contest. Each school in the county had the Art teacher of the school decorate a butterfly bard. the school that got the most votes for the favorite piece of art would receive a donation from WaMu. Of course, soon after arriving the girls each nominated their respective schools.

The next thing that we did was check out some of the animals that were brought over into the Pavillion. Some of the animals were very rare like the Asian Fishing Tiger to the common parrots. Later we watched the Sea Lion show. Do you know what the difference is between a Sea Lion and a Seal? Ask Alisiya, she knows the answer.

Alisiya and Meagon went to the fair together last year too. This year we took them once again to the Kiddie Land. They rode on a few rides there and their boredom really showed for some of the rides. We noticed later in the day that the girls are too big for Kiddie Land now. We would have to move over to the Big People's Side. They both loved this ride that let you jump and flip suspended in the air by cables. Alisiya is a real tumbler so it was hard to get a good picture of her in action.

They're growing up

Whew!!!! It's so nice to have babies that coo and smile instead of crying and scream. Well, we know they still cry and scream just a lot less.

They are just growing like weeds. There is nothing we can do to stop them.

Family Friends and Food

January 3rd, 2008 I had lunch with Aunt Janine, Juanita, and my mom. Of course Aviron, Alisiya and the twins were in tow. We had a really quiet meal being that the twins slept through the entire thing. Somehow Juanita managed to get her soup upgraded to ribs. Hummm!!! How does she do it?

What a lively bunch

They do better not knowing that the camera is thier way

I had to sneak this pic of Aviron

Let's Do Lunch

O.K. when I was in Jax I planned many lunch dates maybe too many. But you know I love food so any meeting with me needs to be over a meal.

I meet my friend Sonia for lunch at Qudoba in Riverside. That Qudoba is located in a very good hang out spot with the other little shops and a new Publix. Of course it wasn't just me going to lunch Alisiya, Sebastian, Haillee and Joy went with me.It was really good chatting with her and catching up. I didn't even realize how long I've know Sonia. I meet her my 1st year at UNF. Can you believe that was in 2001! It seems like just yesterday. Funny that we have been friends so long b/c when I first meet her I really didn't like her. She was always, always asking questions in class. You know the ones that are going to be answered. Anyways, I think we had a project to do together and long story short. We are still friends.

After lunch we headed over to a place called Nanny's Little People and I racked up on clothes for the kids. I used to get lots of things for Alisiya there when she was a baby and decided that I could probably get some deals.

Sonia. Isn't she cute?!

My sleepy Sebastian. He slept the entire time.
